Facts

Those were the 85th Academy Awards, they took place in the Dolby Theatre

The Oscar's protocol obliges those who walk down red carpet to call the experience "priceless" but the real cost is around $1.50 per square foot; according to the LA-based Red Carpet Systems, which rents the stuff to other events. At 500ft long and 33ft wide that adds up to $25,000!!!

The marketing firm Distinctive Assets will hand out its traditional "swag bags", valued at more than $45,000, to nominees who lose. Goodies include trips, personal training sessions, condoms, tequila, hand-illustrated tennis shoes, a voucher for a fitness and weight-loss retreat, one-year membership to Heathrow's VIP service and more! When the bagless winners start weeping on the podium, you'll know why!

Fun Facts

Every nominee is the Best Supporting Actor category – Christoph Waltz, Tommy Lee Jones, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Robert De Niro and Alan Arkin – have all won Oscars before.

Quvenzhane Wallis and Emmanuelle Riva – at 9 and 85, respectively – are the oldest and youngest Best Actress nominees ever.

Silver Linings Playbook‘ is the first film since 1982 to get nominations in all four acting categories. (1982 Warren Beatty’s ‘Reds.’)

Composer John Williams stands second only to Walt Disney (who had 59 nods) with his 48 nods from the Academy. He was nominated this year for 'Lincoln' for Best Original Score

Fails

Adele failed to get a standing ovation for her poor performance of Skyfall at the Oscars on Sunday evening, also there were some sound issues.

KStew was forced to bring crutches to the Oscars: "I know, I'm an idiot," the actress tells

Anne Hathaway of her injured foot. It seems she cut her foot with a broken glass " days ago.

The 22-year-old star Jennifer Lawrence won the Best Actress Academy Award inside the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. Ascending the Oscars stage, Lawrence suffered every actress' nightmare: She face-planted! Tripping on her sizable frock, the blonde fell down on the steps, and was quickly helped up.

Opinion

I think the winners earned it and that all the awards were fair, EXCEPT for Best Leading Actress. In my personal opinion I think that Emmanuelle Riva or Naomi Watts should have won. Despite that I'm happy by the Oscar's of Django and Lincoln.

What DO YOU people think?
